King’s High School DECA hosted its 2013 KHS uKnighting Leaders Operation Outreach tradeshow on January 16th and 17th. The show highlighted non-profit organizations in the Puget Sound and encouraged volunteerism amongst attendees.

High school students presented interactive booths to engage visitors and demonstrate the business and leaderships skills learned in the DECA program. "The King's High School uKnighting Leaders Operation Outreach is a great bridge builder with the community," said Marian Morris, DECA teacher and tradeshow advisor at King's High School. "The King's DECA trade show showcases student ingenuity and marketing skills while building community involvement and sharing the importance of volunteer work."

King's High School DECA has hosted a trade show for the past four years and chose this year's theme to not only benefit the students and companies but also the community. Each student in the DECA program represented a non-profit agency in the trade show, which is designed to help students understand how principles of business and marketing apply to non-profit and for-profit organizations alike.

The event provided non-profit organizations in Seattle with publicity and promotion, increasing awareness and enthusiasm for community members and students to become involved in the volunteer opportunities presented at this event.
