With 38 team state championships in the last 20 years alone, King's has established itself as one of the preeminent high school athletic programs in the state of Washington. Boys sports programs include football, basketball, soccer, track & field, cross country and golf. Girls programs include basketball, soccer, volleyball, track & field, cross country and cheer.

For the fifth consecutive year, King's was announced as a Scholastic Cup champion for 2011-12 by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. The Scholastic Cup is awarded to the top school in each WIAA classification that displays excellence in academics, sportsmanship and athletic performances throughout the school year.

As part of the Cascade Conference, King's is joined by fellow 1A high schools Coupeville and South Whidbey, as well as 2A schools Archbishop Murphy, Cedarcrest, Granite Falls, Lakewood, and Sultan.
